Girls Ice Skating Dresses: Dressing Up For The Occasion

Girls Ice Skating Dresses are ice skating costumes that come in many form and styles. Just like any other dresses, there are also many types of ice skating dresses to choose from depending on the occasion.

The first type of dress is the Test Dress. These dresses are worn when a skater’s skill level is being tested. During this time, the skater will be determined at which skill level she will be competing at so fancy, decorated dresses are not useful since only the skill and techniques are judged.

Another type of dress is the Practice Dress. These dresses are used for competition practices. They are just like regular working clothes which are used everyday by the skater for the practice. They are usually simple but elegant and are decorated with small embellishments at times.

Then, there’s the Competition Dress which are more elaborate than the previous dresses. These are usually covered with Swarovski crystals and are adorned with flowing lace and patterns. These dresses have fun and vibrant colors, classic style and elegance, and added drama – all of which will help the figure skater to capture a judge’s interest and attention. More often than not, these dresses are chosen carefully to match the emotion or the story of the music the competitor will be using.

Fourth type is dress is the Dance Dress which are dresses which have more ornaments at the back than in front because this is what the judges and spectators will see often. These dresses are used for competitions done in pairs and are commonly sleeveless so male partner can easily grip the female’s arms.

Last is the Artistic Dress which are used for interpretative dances. Although these are less flashy than the dance dress, they are the most costume type of dress which suits for telling music’s story.

We should always put in mind that dressing up for an ice skating event is also as important as dressing up for a job interview as this will help figure skaters establish an image and create impact on her performance. With this little guide, dilettantes, wannabees (like most of us) and even neophyte ice figure skaters will wear an appropriate dress according to an event.
